How is this different from the Insta360 X5?
Both shoot 8K 360° video, but the Osmo 360 integrates seamlessly with DJI’s microphone ecosystem for superior audio, and tends to appeal more to creators already in the DJI workflow. The X5 has a slight edge in lens durability and third-party accessory support.
Do I need to edit the footage to use it?
Not necessarily. The DJI Mimo app can reframe and export clips quickly without complex editing. For full creative control, desktop editing in DJI’s software gives you much more flexibility.
Is it waterproof?
Yes, waterproof to 10m (33ft) without a case — suitable for most water activities including surfing, kayaking, and light diving.
Can I connect a wireless microphone?
Yes, it connects directly to two DJI Mic transmitters simultaneously — capturing two separate audio tracks with no receiver required.
What's the battery life like?
Up to 100 minutes at 8K, or up to 190 minutes when shooting in 6K endurance mode — enough for most event or adventure shoots on a single charge.
