Plain-Language Summary
This is our rental agreement. When you rent equipment from GOBros, you are agreeing to these terms. In plain English:
- You pay upfront. We deliver or you pick up. You return the equipment on time and in the same condition.
- If you break it, lose it, or return it late, you pay for it — up to the full replacement cost.
- We hold a damage deposit of $250 – $350 depending on what you rent.
- You must be 18 or older and pay with a credit card in your own name.
- We’re in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Manitoba law governs this agreement.
The full terms are below. By checking the consent box, signing our rental form, or taking possession of the equipment, you agree to all of them.
1. The Agreement
This agreement is between GOBros (“we,” “us,” or “GOBros“) and you (the “Renter“). It covers any camera, accessory, or image recording equipment (“Equipment“) that you rent from us.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place your order is the version that applies to that rental.
2. Who Can Rent
To rent from GOBros, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Pay with a credit card in your own name (the name on the card must match the name on the rental agreement)
- Provide accurate contact and identification information
- Agree to these Terms and any other rental policies we provide
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason, at any time.
3. Rental Period and Rates
3.1 Minimum rental. Our minimum rental period is one (1) day.
3.2 Rate types. We offer:
- Daily rate — per 24-hour period
- Weekend rate — a discounted rate for Friday-to-Monday rentals (specific days confirmed at time of booking)
3.3 Rental period. Your rental starts on the start date and ends on the end date shown on your rental agreement. All Equipment must be returned by 5:00 PM on the end date.
3.4 Payment. Full rental fees and the damage deposit must be paid in advance, in full, before Equipment is released to you.
4. Damage Deposit
4.1 Amount. We collect a refundable damage deposit of $250 – $350 depending on the Equipment rented. The exact amount is shown on your quote and rental agreement.
4.2 How it’s collected. Damage deposits are processed through Square. The deposit is authorized or charged to your credit card before Equipment is released.
4.3 Refund. If the Equipment is returned on time, undamaged, and complete (with all accessories), we release the deposit back to your card within 5 business days of return. The actual time for funds to appear depends on your card issuer.
4.4 Deductions. We may deduct from the deposit for: late fees, damage repair costs, cleaning fees, missing accessories, or any other amount you owe us under these Terms. If the deposit doesn’t cover the full amount owed, we will charge the balance to your credit card on file.
5. Pickup and Delivery
5.1 Options. We offer two ways to receive Equipment:
- Customer pickup from our agreed location
- GOBros delivery to an address within Manitoba (delivery fees may apply)
5.2 Inspection at handover. When you take possession of the Equipment, you are responsible for inspecting it. Any pre-existing damage must be reported to us within 24 hours of taking possession. After 24 hours, any damage is considered to have occurred during your rental.
5.3 Return. The Equipment must be returned to us (or made available for our pickup, if we delivered) by 5:00 PM on the end date of your rental.
6. Your Responsibilities
While the Equipment is in your possession, you agree to:
- Use it carefully and only for lawful purposes
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations
- Not lend, sub-rent, sell, or transfer the Equipment to anyone else
- Not modify, alter, or attempt to repair the Equipment
- Keep it in the same condition you received it (normal wear and tear excepted)
- Return it on time, complete with all accessories (caps, hoods, bags, cables, tripods, cards, etc.)
The Equipment remains our property at all times. You have no ownership interest in it.
Your work is yours. We make no claim to the photos, videos, or audio you record using the Equipment.
7. Late Returns
7.1 Daily late fee. If you return Equipment after 5:00 PM on the end date, you will be charged one (1) day’s rental rate for each day late, charged to your credit card on file.
7.2 Cap on late fees. Late fees will accumulate up to a maximum of 50% of the Equipment’s replacement value.
7.3 Deemed stolen. If Equipment is not returned and either:
- late fees reach 50% of replacement value, or
- the Equipment is 7 or more days overdue,
the Equipment will be considered stolen. At that point, we will charge your credit card on file for the full replacement value of the Equipment and may report the theft to police and pursue civil and criminal remedies.
8. Damage, Loss, and Theft
8.1 You bear the risk. From the moment you take possession until the moment you return the Equipment, you bear the full risk of loss, theft, or damage — whatever the cause.
8.2 Damage assessment. If Equipment is returned damaged, we will determine the repair method and venue. You are responsible for:
- In-house repairs — our reasonable parts and labour costs
- External repairs — the full commercially reasonable repair cost
8.3 Cleaning fees. At our discretion, we may charge a cleaning fee if the Equipment comes back with smoke residue, mud or dirt, chalk or powder, sand, or anything else that must be cleaned before it can go back into our inventory.
8.4 Missing accessories. If any accessories are missing on return (caps, hoods, bags, straps, cables, batteries, memory cards, tripod plates, etc.), you owe us the full replacement cost of the missing items.
8.5 Lost or stolen. If the Equipment is lost or stolen during your rental, you owe us the full replacement value. You must report loss or theft to us immediately and, where applicable, file a police report and provide us with a copy.
8.6 Charging your card. When you owe us money for damage, loss, theft, late fees, cleaning, or missing accessories, we will charge your credit card on file. If the charge fails and isn’t resolved within 24 hours, you are in Default (see Section 13).
9. Damage Waiver
If offered: An optional Damage Waiver is available at the time of booking for an additional fee. If purchased, the Waiver covers accidental damage caused by ordinary negligence, up to the replacement value of the Equipment.
The Waiver does NOT cover:
- Water or liquid damage
- Sand damage
- Intentional damage
- Damage from reckless or grossly negligent use
- Damage from abusive use
- Lost or stolen Equipment
- Lost or missing accessories
You remain fully responsible for any damage, loss, or theft not covered by the Waiver.
10. Cancellation
10.1 By you (Renter).
- Before Equipment is prepared or delivered: no charge.
- After Equipment is prepared for delivery or pickup: cancellation fee equal to one (1) day’s rental rate.
10.2 By us (GOBros). We may cancel any order for any reason before delivery or pickup occurs. If we cancel, you receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including the damage deposit. We are not responsible for any other costs you may incur as a result.
11. What We Are Not Responsible For
GOBros is not liable for:
- Your files. We are not responsible for photos, videos, or audio files that are lost, corrupted, deleted, or damaged, whether caused by Equipment malfunction, memory card failure, user error, or any other reason. Back up your work.
- Consequential losses. We are not responsible for lost income, missed events, missed deadlines, emotional distress, or any other consequential or incidental damages arising from Equipment use, malfunction, or unavailability.
- Equipment malfunctions. If Equipment malfunctions during your rental, our only liability is to refund the portion of the rental fee covering the time the Equipment was unusable. We are not responsible for any other losses resulting from the malfunction.
- Your use of the Equipment. You use the Equipment at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of anyone around you while using it.
You agree to indemnify and hold GOBros harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your use of the Equipment.
12. Our Maximum Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GOBros’ total liability to you for any claim arising from this rental is limited to the amount you paid us in rental fees for the specific rental in question (excluding the damage deposit).
This cap applies regardless of the cause of action (contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise).
13. Default
You are in Default if:
- You fail to return the Equipment on time
- We are unable to successfully charge your credit card for amounts you owe within 24 hours of the charge being due
- You breach any other material term of this agreement
If you are in Default:
- All amounts you owe become immediately due
- You are responsible for our reasonable collection costs, including collection agency fees and legal fees
- We may pursue any legal remedy available to us, including recovery of the Equipment, reporting theft to police, filing civil action, and engaging debt collection
14. Force Majeure
Neither party is responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond their reasonable control, including:
- Severe weather events (blizzards, flooding, ice storms, extreme cold)
- Road closures or emergency travel advisories
- Power or network outages
- Government orders, lockdowns, or public health emergencies
- Labour strikes, acts of war, terrorism, or civil unrest
- Any other event that could not reasonably be anticipated or prevented
If a force majeure event prevents delivery or pickup, we will work with you to reschedule the rental or refund fees paid. No cancellation fees apply in these cases.
15. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the applicable laws of Canada.
Any dispute arising from this agreement will be resolved in the courts of Manitoba:
- Disputes under $15,000 — Manitoba Small Claims Court
- Disputes over $15,000 — Manitoba Court of King’s Bench
Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of these courts.
17. Entire Agreement and Severability
These Terms, together with your rental agreement and our Privacy Policy, represent the entire agreement between you and GOBros regarding your rental.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.

Acceptance

- You have read and understood these Terms
- You agree to be legally bound by them
- You are 18 years of age or older
- The credit card you provided is in your name
- You will return the Equipment in the same condition you received it, on time, and complete with all accessories
- You accept full responsibility for any damage, loss, or theft during the rental
- You authorize GOBros to charge your credit card or retain your deposit for any damages, loss, late fees, cleaning, or missing accessories
